What is SIELE?
The International Service for the Evaluation of the Spanish Language (SIELE) certifies Spanish proficiency through a digital exam adapted to each candidate. The exam is promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of Salamanca, and the University of Buenos Aires, institutions that guarantee quality standards and best practices.

The exam is based on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and provides an overall score of 0 to 1,000 points by adding the four tests together.
Exam Modalities
SIELE offers a complete exam (SIELE Global) and five independent modalities that combine different tests. In SIELE Global, the candidate completes all four parts and receives a certificate with the score for each one. Results are obtained within a maximum of three weeks.

Course Content and Skills Covered
During the course, the four competencies assessed in SIELE are developed:
- Reading comprehension: exercises on understanding diverse texts and time management.
- Listening comprehension: practice with authentic audio and active listening strategies.
- Written expression and interaction: writing formal and informal texts and improving coherence.
- Oral expression and interaction: presentations, debates, and spontaneous responses to gain fluency and accuracy.
In addition, grammatical and lexical content specific to CEFR levels A1-C1 is reinforced, expanding vocabulary and improving accuracy.

SIELE is conducted entirely by computer, assesses all four skills, and awards a certificate with an overall score of 0 to 1,000 points, while DELE is a traditional exam with fixed sections and awards a diploma with no expiration date.
How long does it take to receive the results?
Results and the digital certificate are available within a maximum of three weeks from the exam date.
How long is the SIELE certificate valid?
The certificate is valid for five years.
Can I take the exam remotely?
Yes, there is the SIELE Remote modality, which allows you to take the exam online with remote supervision.
